Lakeview Track and Field Takes Second at Wayne Invite

Lakeview’s track and field teams both finished second to Pierce in yesterday’s Wayne Invite. 

In girls’ action, Blake Barcel won three of the Vikings’ six gold medals.  Barcel took first place in the 200 and 400-meter dashes, as well as the girls high jump.  Adam Van Cleave and Turner Halvorsen won three gold medals apiece.  Van Cleave won the 100 and 200-meter dashes and was on the 4-by-100 meter relay team that finished first.  Halvorsen won the 400-meter dash and 800-meter run, along with the boys’ high jump. 

The Scotus girls were fifth, while the Shamrocks boys finished last in the six-team field, earning fifth place in the combined team scores.  Boone Central was third overall.
