Lakeview Seniors Denied a Third Straight Trip to State

The Bank of the Valley Lakeview Seniors were denied a third straight trip to state, falling to Wayne 15-3 in the B4 area tournament at Pawnee Park.
Wayne jumped on Lakeview starter Nick Zoucha for five runs in the top of the first and went on to win in five frames. Third-seeded Lakeview went 3-2 in the tourney and was 13-5 this season.
Wayne went on last night to hammer Battle Creek 12-0 in five innings and qualify for the Class B state tournament in Pierce.
