Kernels Ousted at State After Wayne Rallies Late

Central City/Fullerton/Centura appeared to be on the verge of advancing in the Class C state baseball tournament last night. 

Facing Wayne in an elimination game at Omaha Westside, the Kernels took a 7-2 lead into the top of the seventh.  The Blue Devils, who had lost to the Kernels 7-1 in Saturday’s opening round, rallied for six runs and an improbable 8-7 victory. 

After going 1-2 at state, the Kernels finished the season at 21-6.
