In prep basketball on Saturday, the Columbus High boys were edged by Norris 64-61, while the Discoverers girls fell to the Titans 47-37. 

The CHS boys are now 10-9 with the girls at 5-14.

Lakeview’s teams were swept at York. The Vikings were downed 65-46 and the Lady Vikes lost 48-39.  The Lakeview boys are 7-12 while the girls are 8-12.

Scotus split a pair of home games against Kearney Catholic. The Shamrocks boys were defeated 61-34, extending their losing skid to six games and dropping their record to 4-15.  The Scotus girls beat the Stars 33-22, with their fourth win in the past five games upping their record to 9-11.

In the East Husker Conference boys basketball tournament at Midland University, North Bend Central bowed to BRLD 55-41 in the championship, while Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family took third. In the girls title game, North Bend was shaded by Oakland-Craig 49-48 in overtime.
