The Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family girls basketball team has joined the Bulldogs boys squad in the state tournament’s championship round.

The H/LHF girls scored the first eleven points of yesterday’s D1 semifinal en route to a 53-38 victory over Archbishop Bergan.  The Bulldogs had been beaten by the Knights in the state tourney quarterfinals in 2019 and again last season.  H/LHF will try to win its first title Saturday at 9 a.m. against Shelton.  The game will be broadcast on KZ-100.

In last night’s boys D2 semifinals, Osceola bowed to top-seeded St. Mary’s 65-36.  Osceola will meet Falls City Sacred Heart, which entered the tourney as D2’s two-time defending champ, in today’s third place game.  It tips off at 1 p.m. at Lincoln East.
