Gophers Going Bowling, Huskers Staying Home

Minnesota’s football team is headed for a bowl game, while Nebraska is done this season because of grades.

Both teams finished 5-7.  There was only one opening in the bowls for a team that didn’t win six games.  The Gophers, who lost to Wisconsin on Saturday, qualified with the highest Academic Progress Rate score.

Minnesota made it once Colorado State came up shy of six wins when host Hawaii hit a 52-yard field goal as time expired early Sunday morning.

The Huskers head to the offseason after finishing Matt Rhule’s first campaign on a four-game losing streak.
