The Humphrey St. Francis girls hoops team opened defense of its D2 title with a 58-44 victory over Diller-Odell in last night’s quarterfinals.
The Flyers improved to 24-3 in the first year of the post-Allison Weidner era. St. Francis will face St. Mary’s in the semifinals tomorrow night at 7:45 on KLIR 101.
In the girls C1 tourney on Monday, North Bend Central topped Malcolm 61-49. The win upped the Tigers’ record to 25-2 and put them in Wednesday’s semifinals against GICC. The Crusaders smothered St. Paul 40-31 to improve to 21-5, while the Wildcats wound up with the same mark. Tomorrow’s C1 semifinal tips off at 10:45 a.m. on KZ-100.
