Fullerton’s Wetovick Earns Big Ten Track Honor

Nebraska’s Brent Wetovick, a graduate of Fullerton High, was named the Big Ten Men’s Indoor Freshman of the Year on Tuesday.

The Huskers’ middle distance runner earned the honor in a vote by the conference’s head coaches.

Wetovick won the Big Ten indoor title in the 600 meters with a personal-best time of 1-minute-16.81 seconds.  It was the fourth-best time in school history in the event.

Wetovick ran in nine races as a freshman, winning eight of them.
