Four City Cross Country Runners Qualify for State Meet

Four cross country runners from Columbus qualified for the state meet in district races yesterday.
Columbus High’s Noah Lawrence finished fifth in the boys A-1 district meet at Pioneers Park in Lincoln. Jude Maguire of Scotus finished seventh in the C-2 district run at Waterloo. Lakeview’s cross country teams competed in the C-3 district race at Pierce and the Vikings had two state qualifiers. Eli Escen was 12th in the boys run, and Elle Badstieber also placed 12th in the girls race.
The state meet is next Friday at the Kearney Country Club.
