Florida Sets CWS Record For Runs in Rout of LSU
Florida scored the most runs in a game in College World Series history in a 24-4 rout of LSU yesterday.
With the wind blowing out at Charles Schwab Field, the Gators belted six home runs and pounded Tigers pitching for a CWS record-tying 23 hits. It came a day after Ty Floyd struck out 17 in LSU’s 4-3, 11-inning victory in game 1 of the best-of-three finals.
The two teams will meet tonight at 6 p.m. with LSU seeking its seventh title and first since 2009, and Florida hoping for its second championship after beating the Bayou Bengals for its first crown in 2017.
