Faust Pitches Lakeview Seniors to Win Over Pierce in B4 Area Tourney

Jack Faust was one out shy of pitching a complete game last night, racking up 14 strikeouts in 6.2 innings to help the Bank of the Valley Lakeview seniors stay alive in their area tournament.
Faust allowed just five hits and no walks as Lakeview beat Pierce 4-1 in an elimination game of the B4 area tourney at Pawnee Park. Bank of the Valley improved to 2-1 in the tournament and 12-4 overall.
Third-seeded Lakeview will meet top seed Battle Creek, which is 2-0 in the tourney, tonight at 7 p.m.
In the other semifinal, Albion will face Wayne today at 4 p.m. Both teams are 2-1, with Albion suffering its first loss yesterday, getting blanked by Battle Creek 5-0.
