Kaitlyn Emanuel scored 20 points and her younger sister Lindsey added 16 as North Bend Central got past Malcolm 48-42 in the girls state basketball C1 semifinals today.
After each team scored 20 points in the first half, the Tigers took a 36-24 lead after three quarters. A furious rally by the Clippers closed the deficit to one point with less than a minute left, but the three-time defending champions hung on for the win.
North Bend has won 27 straight games and will take a 27-1 season record into tomorrow’s final. The Tigers will meet 26-1 Adams Central. The Patriots edged previously unbeaten Bridgeport 47-44 in overtime this afternoon.
