Discoverers Softball Goes 1-1 in Opening Day of District Tourney

Columbus High’s softball team went 1-1 yesterday in the A-5 district tournament at Lincoln.
The third-seeded Discoverers fell to No. 2 seed Lincoln North Star 11-5. But, CHS bounced back to defeat fourth-seeded Lincoln Northeast 11-3.
The Discoverers will take a 13-21 record into a rematch against the Navigators, who are 22-13, in today’s semifinals. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
Top-seeded Lincoln Southwest awaits the winner in today’s district final. The Silver Hawks are 25-9 after victories over Northeast and North Star on Wednesday.
