Discoverers’ Martinez Leads Silver All-Stars to Win

Columbus High’s Connor Martinez scored 18 points to lead the silver team to a 72-64 victory over the green team in last night’s CCC All-Star basketball game. 

Martinez, who won a 3-point shooting contest at halftime, hit three of his four 3-pointers in the second half as his squad rallied from a 40-29 halftime deficit.  Osceola’s Isaiah Zelasney tallied a game-high 23 points for the green team. 

In the girls game, Korbee Wendt of Clarkson/Leigh scored 16 of her game-high 23 points in the second half as the silver club rallied for a 50-42 win.  Halle Beller of Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family topped a balanced green-team attack with nine points.
