Columbus High’s football team needs to get off to a better start in the first quarter tonight than the Discoverers did last week.

Coach Craig Williams says his team has been focused on that in practice this week, heading into their second round Class A playoff game against Lincoln Southeast at Seacrest Field.

After a sloppy start at home last Friday, the Discoverers were able to pull away from Papillion-La Vista for a 31-14 win.  Columbus’ first playoff victory in a decade upped its record to 6-3.

The Knights come into tonight’s game 7-0, but Southeast hasn’t played in three weeks.  Their October 15th game against Gretna was cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns for the Dragons and the Knights had a bye last week.

Tonight’s Columbus-Lincoln Southeast game will be aired on KLIR 101, with kickoff set for 8:15.

In the second round of the D2 playoffs, Osceola visits Humphrey St. Francis at 6 p.m. on KZ-100.

Aquinas Catholic hits the road to face Norfolk Catholic in a C2 first round contest on 93.5 The Hawk.  Kickoff is at 7 p.m.

The Hawk Scoreboard Show is at 10:30 tonight on 93.5 FM.
