Discoverers Basketball Clubs Bow to Knights

Neither of Columbus High’s basketball teams could snap losing streaks last night. 

The Discoverers boys lost their 10th straight in a 71-40 loss at Lincoln Southeast.  Tanner Esch scored a team-high nine points for Columbus, which fell to 5-16 on the season. 

The CHS girls were edged by the Knights 41-39.  The Discoverers led 25-21 after three quarters, but were outscored 20-14 in the final period.  Ayla Janssen’s 11 points led the Discoverers, who lost their fourth in a row, slipping to 7-15. 

Both Columbus teams will play Papillion-La Vista in their home finales.  The girls game is set for tomorrow at 7 p.m., with the boys contest Friday at 7 p.m.
