Both of today’s D2 state volleyball semifinals went five sets, with Howells-Dodge surviving but Humphrey St. Francis falling.
The top-seeded Jaguars got by Shelton 25-20, 20-25, 19-25, 25-17, 19-17. Overton outlasted the No. 3 seed Flyers, 23-25, 25-12, 20-25, 27-25, 15-12.
Howells-Dodge will meet the second-seeded Eagles in the D2 championship tomorrow. First serve is set for 9 a.m. at the Devaney Sports Center. The title match will be broadcast on KLIR 101, with audio also streamed live at mycentralnebraska.com.
St. Francis will meet Shelton at 11 a.m. in the third place match at Lincoln North Star.
