CU Men’s Basketball Gets First Win Over a Top-Ranked Foe

Creighton upset No. 1 UConn 85-66 in Omaha last night.

The victory was not only the Bluejays’ first ever against a top-ranked team, but also the 600th career win for head coach Greg McDermott.

Steven Ashworth scored 16 of his 20 points in the first half and CU led by 23 points midway through the second half.  With the win, the Jays recorded their ninth straight 20-win season and 24th in the past 26 campaigns.

The Huskies had their record-tying 14-game Big East winning streak snapped three days after they beat then No. 4 Marquette by 28 points.
