Creighton Goes 2-0 at ‘Nova, Big East Tourney is Next

Weather affected the end of Creighton’s scheduled three-game series at Villanova.
After being rained out Friday, the two teams were set to play a doubleheader Saturday. But, in an opener that was slated for seven innings, the Bluejays needed 10 innings to get past the Wildcats 7-5. Travel considerations for CU meant the Jays settled for a two-game series sweep.
Creighton is 30-16 overall, 15-5 in the Big East. The second-seeded Bluejays meet three seed Xavier in the first round of the Big East tournament on Thursday in Mason, Ohio.
