CHS Girls Season Ends, Boys to Face Fremont Friday

The Columbus High girls basketball team saw its season end in a 63-35 loss at Omaha Central in the A-4 district semifinals last night.
Elena Batenhorst scored 12 points to lead the Discoverers, who wound up with a 4-18 record while the Eagles improved to 21-3.
Meantime, the Columbus boys team learned yesterday that it will visit Fremont on Friday night in an A-1 district play-in contest. Tipoff is set for 6:30 p.m. at Fremont’s Al Bahe Gym.
CHS is the number 5 seed in the district tourney with a 1-19 record, while the fourth-seeded Tigers are 4-17.
