CHS Baseball Routs Waverly 12-2 in Five Innings

Columbus High’s baseball club broke out the bats last night as the Discoverers drubbed Waverly 12-2 in five innings at Pawnee Park Field. 

Cody Zrust went 1-for-2 with a home run, two RBI and scored a run.  Bentley Willison was 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI and a run.  And Jack Faust tripled in his only official at-bat, driving in two runs and scoring twice. 

On the mound, Faust came within one out of a five-inning complete game.  He allowed two runs on four hits, walking two and fanning five.  The win improved Columbus to 6-7. 

The Discoverers travel to Lincoln North Star on Saturday to face the Navigators and Lincoln High.
