Chinander Says Pass Rush Has Helped NU Get Off Field

Nebraska’s football game at Rutgers Friday has been moved from 3 p.m. to 6:30.   Following NU’s practice yesterday, defensive coordinator Erik Chinander talked about his unit’s recent improvement on third downs. 

He credited the Blackshirts pass rush and said that doesn’t always mean quarterback sacks.  “When the pass rush is working together and that pocket is getting collapsed and that quarterback doesn’t have an opportunity to run, that was hurting us a little bit earlier in the first part of the year,” Chinander said.    

Friday’s pre-game starts at 1:30 p.m. on News Talk 900 KJSK and will be joined at 6 on 93.5 The Hawk, a half-hour before the new kickoff time.
