The Nebraska football team will face one of the Big Ten’s most explosive and balanced offenses on Saturday, when the Huskers host Minnesota.

Gophers running back Mohommed Ibrahim is among the nation’s rushing leaders, averaging better than 163 yards per game.

Meantime, the Blackshirts have shown improvement in their run defense the past two weeks.  NU’s defensive coordinator Erik Chinander was asked what’s the key to that.

“The guys up front have been playing physical,” Chinander said. “The linebackers have done a good job of filling their gaps and/or giving us an extra hitter when we need it.  And the DBs, when they’re asked to make some tackles and get to the party they’ve done a great job.”

Saturday’s kickoff is set for 11 a.m.  Pre-game coverage starts at 6 a.m. on News Talk 900 KJSK.  It will be joined at 10:30 on 93.5 The Hawk.
