The Big Ten has canceled all competitions through the end of the academic year, including spring sports that compete beyond the academic year.  Also, the conference announced a moratorium on all recruiting activities for the foreseeable future.

Nebraska was scheduled to send 10 wrestlers and four track and field athletes to championship events.

What is not yet clear is the status of NU football’s Red-White Spring Game scheduled for April 18th at Memorial Stadium and volleyball’s spring match at Grand Island on the 25th. The university said in a release that conversations about those events “will occur in the coming days,” but that release came hours before the conference canceled all spring sports.

One other note: Sports Nightly will continue on weeknights just after 6 p.m. on News Talk 900 KJSK.
