32 Local Wrestlers in Omaha as State Wrestling Opens
The state wrestling meet opens today in Omaha. Columbus High is represented by 12 boys and two girls.
Discoverers senior Brenyn Delano, who won a district title last Saturday for a second straight year, will attempt to earn a state medal for the fourth consecutive season. Columbus finished fourth in the Class A team standings in 2023 and was third in 2022.
Lakeview has 16 wrestlers in Omaha, with nine boys and seven girls making the trip. The Vikings boys include sophomore Jakson McFarland, who earned a gold medal in the B-4 district meet last Saturday. Lakeview’s girls earned a district team title in advance of this third-ever girls state meet.
Two Scotus boys will compete in the Class C meet. Aquinas is the defending team champion in Class D and won the Class C team championship two years ago.
