Volleyball: Scotus Sweeps Aquinas, Columbus Edges Kearney

Strong serving and stronger play at the net helped Scotus sweep Aquinas last night at the Dowd Activity Center. 

Larkyn Mahoney had a team-high nine kills for the Shamrocks.  Joanna Rusher had eight kills and three blocks, while Kensey McKay had six ace serves for Scotus, which improved to 3-7.   Aquinas fell to 1-8. 

Both teams play in tournaments on Saturday.  The Shamrocks are in Fairbury and the Monarchs play in Central City.  

Meanwhile, Columbus won its home match over Kearney, 3-2.  Addi Johnson led the Discoverers with 25 kills.  CHS improved to 6-9. 

The Discoverers are off until next Thursday, when they host Blair.
