Vikings Place Second, Shamrocks Fourth in Columbus Classic

In Saturday’s Columbus Classic volleyball tournament at Lakeview, the Vikings finished second and Scotus was fourth.
In the opening round, Lakeview beat Ord 2-0 while the Shamrocks got by North Bend Central 2-1. The Vikings beat their crosstown rivals 2-0 in the semifinals. In the championship match, Lakeview was downed by Malcolm 2-1. Scotus bowed to Beatrice 2-0 in the third place match.
The Vikings are 13-6 and will host 15-6 St. Paul tomorrow night on KZ-100. The Shamrocks are 8-11 and will play in the Centennial Conference tourney starting on Thursday.
