Two Huskers, Two Others With Nebraska Ties, Drafted by MLB Teams

Two more Nebraska baseball players and two others with connections to the state were selected as the Major League Baseball Draft continued yesterday. 

Huskers junior pitchers Emmett Olson and Jace Kaminska heard their names called.  Olson, a lefty, was picked by the Miami Marlins in the fourth round with the 110th overall pick.  The right-hander Kaminska was chosen by the Colorado Rockies in the 10th round with pick No. 292. 

Outfielder Jared Wegner, a Kearney High graduate who played for Creighton before joining Arkansas for his senior season, was drafted by the New York Yankees in the ninth round with the 282nd pick.  Also selected in the ninth round by the Cincinnati Reds with the 258th overall selection was Logan Van Treeck.  The senior left-handed pitcher out of Lipscomb University was a Lincoln Southeast grad.
