Tight End Thomas Fidone Talks About His Comeback From Injuries

Following Tuesday’s practice, Nebraska tight end Thomas Fidone met with reporters and talked about his comeback after missing the past two seasons with injuries.

The 6-foot-6 Fidone, who was a top 40 recruit out of Lewis Central High in Council Bluffs, Iowa, said he’s excited to be on the field again.  He spent the past two years studying plays and film mostly by himself due to NCAA rules, and going through rehab workouts he described as “crazy stuff.”

Fidone was asked how he thinks he’ll be used in the red zone.  “It gives you an opportunity to be be big,” Fidone said.  “We have a ton of plays where you can catch balls in the front or the back of the end zone.”

The Huskers will be back at practice this evening as they prepare for their August 31st season opener at Minnesota.
