Six Area Boys Basketball Teams Make District Finals
Six area boys basketball clubs advanced to district finals Thursday night.
Cross County beat Centennial 49-26 to earn the C2-4 subdistrict title. The Cougars will host North Bend Central for a trip to state. The Tigers got by Archbishop Bergan 51-48 last night.
In Class D1 action, Howells-Dodge was knocked off by GACC 47-42. But, the Jaguars made a district final as a wildcard and will get a rematch against the Bluejays. Riverside defeated Elgin Public/Pope John 51-45, sending the Chargers to McCool Junction in a district final.
In D2, High Plains Community downed Nebraska Lutheran 59-44. The Storm will visit Walthill with a state tourney appearance on the line. Humphrey St. Francis won 56-55 at Osceola, ending the Bulldogs season. The Flyers face Hyannis in a district final.
