Busy Weekend for City’s Boys Wrestling Squads
Columbus High finished 10th out of 43 boys wrestling teams competing in the Council Bluffs Wrestling Classic this weekend.
Brenyn Delano had the top individual finish for the Discoverers, taking second place at 126 pounds.
Meanwhile, Lakeview’s boys were fifth out of ten boys teams at Saturday’s Holdrege Duster Wrestling Scramble. Gerber Recinos had the Vikings best showing as he won the gold medal at 157 pounds.
Scotus took fourth and Schuyler topped the nine-team field in a meet at Fort Calhoun on Saturday. Two Shamrocks, Hunter Brunkhorst and Alex Evans, placed first while five Warriors won gold medals.
On Friday, Scotus went 2-3 and took 6th place at the Raymond Central dual tournament.
