Shamrocks Fall; Patriots, Bulldogs and Cougars Make State Volleyball

The postseason run for Scotus’ volleyball club ended one win shy of making state. 

The Shamrocks were swept at Minden in Saturday’s district finals.  The Whippets won 25-17, 25-22, 25-19.  Scotus finished with an 11-18 record. 

Three area teams qualified for this week’s state tourney.  In Class C2, Clarkson/Leigh is seeded No. 2.  The Patriots first-round state match is against No. 7 seed Crofton Thursday at 5 p.m.  It will be followed at 7 p.m. by sixth-seeded Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family taking on third-seeded Oakland-Craig.  Both matches will be aired on 93.5 The Hawk. 

And in D2, No. 7 seed Central Valley meets No. 2 seed Overton Thursday morning at 9 a.m. on KZ-100.
