Rhule Trusts Big Ten Leadership on Conference Expansion

Nebraska football coach Matt Rhule said he was pleased with the first week of fall camp.

Rhule met with members of the media following the Huskers’ sixth practice on Saturday.  He said he was really pleased with his players’ toughness and mindset.

When asked for his thoughts about the Big Ten adding Oregon and Washington, Rhule said he trusts the leaders of the conference.  “I’m kind of in my own little bubble right now,” Rhule said.  “As realignment happens in the coming years….my job is to make sure that the University of Nebraska is relevant nationally.”

Nebraska center Ben Scott has been named to the Rimington Trophy watch list.  Scott is in his first season at NU after transferring from Arizona State, where he played four seasons.  Scott is one of 40 centers nationally on the preseason radar for the award, named after former Husker Dave Rimington.
