Receiver Out For Season, Rhule Wants Saturday’s Focus on Football

Nebraska receiver Isaiah Garcia-Castaneda will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury.

Coach Matt Rhule said yesterday “it’s all hands on deck” for the rest of the Huskers receivers to fill that void.

Looking ahead to this Saturday’s opponent, Rhule said Colorado’s offense “can go down the field and their ball skills are elite.”  He also mentioned the Buffs tempo and the altitude in Boulder.  But, when he asked a follow-up question about it, Rhule said the Huskers defense has been practicing against tempo in fall camp.

“For our guys there going to have to make this (about) football,” Rhule said.  “This can’t be about tempo.  This can’t be about altitude.  This can’t be about playing a ranked opponent, or being on the road.”

Kickoff Saturday is set for 11 a.m.  The pregame starts at 7 a.m. on News Talk 900 KJSK.  It will be joined at 10:30 on 93.5 The Hawk.
