Postseason Over Before It Began for Lakeview Junior Reds
The postseason ended before it began for the Owens Wealth Advisors Lakeview Junior Reds.
Team officials say a miscommunication between a coach and players resulted in only eight Junior Reds making it to St. Paul for a B5 area tournament game on Saturday. Lakeview had to forfeit out of the double-elimination tourney and finished the year with a 7-9 record.
In that same tournament, top-seeded Central City and host and third-seeded St. Paul are both 2-0 and will meet tonight. No. 6 seed Albion is still alive after going 1-1.
In other Junior Legion area tourneys, Schuyler went 0-2 in B4, Twin River and Cross County SOS are both 1-1 while Central Valley/PWG is 2-0 in C5, North Bend/Morse Bluff went 0-2 in C3 and Wisner-Pilger/Howells Dodge lost two straight in C2.
