NU Football: No Red Balloons, New 3-Game Mini Plans

Nebraska football will not hand out red balloons this fall.
Athletic Director Trev Alberts said the move is being made due to helium shortages. The long tradition of Husker fans letting the balloons go after the Huskers’ first touchdown has been criticized recently for its environmental impact.
NU has also announced that football 3-Game Mini Plans for this season will go on sale tomorrow. The plan includes one home game from each month of September, October and November. It costs $180, a $30 savings off single-game ticket prices.
The tickets, which go on sale at 10 a.m. Wednesday, can be purchased at Huskers.com/tickets or by calling 1-800-8-BIG RED.
