Huskers to Wear Alternate Uniform Oct 21 to Mark 100 Years at Stadium

Nebraska’s football players will wear a special alternate uniform celebrating the 100th anniversary of Memorial Stadium.

It will be worn on October 21st against Northwestern.  The uniform unveiled Tuesday features the 100-year stadium patch and a blue outline around the numbers.

The Huskers wore blue uniforms in the first ever game played in the stadium on October 13, 1923 against Oklahoma.  That was done to avoid confusion with the Sooners who wore crimson uniforms. Nebraska won that game, 24-0.
