Huskers Fall to Number 13 Ohio State in OT

The Nebraska men’s basketball team erased an eight-point second-half deficit, but fell to Ohio State 87-79 in overtime at Pinnacle Bank Arena last night. 

The Huskers used a 15-3 spurt to take a 66-62 lead.  The last five points in that stretch were scored by Derrick Walker, who finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds for his third double-double of the season.  Malaki Branham led the 13th-ranked Buckeyes with a career-high 35 points. 

Ohio State, which hadn’t played since December 11th because of a COVID-19 outbreak in their program, improved to 9-2 and 3-0 in the Big Ten.  NU fell to 6-8 and 0-3 in conference play. 

Nebraska will visit Michigan State on Wednesday.  Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.  The pregame starts at 5 on News Talk 900 KJSK.
