Four Nebraska football players have received single-digit jerseys in a new tradition that Matt Rhule has introduced this season.
NU tweeted a photo of the four Huskers yesterday. Billy Kemp will wear number 1, Isaac Gifford is 2, Luke Reimer has 4 and Jeff Sims owns number 7.
Those four players picked their own numbers after they were selected for the honor in a team vote.
Neither Rhule nor defensive coordinator Tony White have said if the Blackshirts will continue this season for Nebraska’s top defensive players.
