Discoverers Fall to Silver Hawks, Host SkyHawks Tonight

Columbus High’s baseball team dropped a 9-5 decision at Lincoln Southwest Monday. 

The Discoverers scored three runs in the top of the third inning to tie the game at 4-all, but the Silver Hawks scored two runs in their half of the third and never trailed.  Zach Nelson went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI for Columbus.  Sawyer Kimberling also had a double and two RBI, but as the Discoverers starter he allowed six runs, three earned, on six hits over the first three innings. 

CHS is 1-2 and returns home to meet Omaha Skutt Catholic today.  First pitch at Pawnee Park is set for 4:30 p.m.  You can hear Don Strecker’s play-by-play on KLIR 101.
