Dannen, Athletic Department Will Be a Snow Plow for Rhule

Troy Dannen was formally introduced as Nebraska’s new athletic director yesterday at Memorial Stadium, then met with reporters.

Dannen, who was announced as NU’s 17th athletic director last Wednesday, said yesterday part of the attraction of leading Husker athletics is working with football coach Matt Rhule.

“I’ve seen him win at two different places where he came in and….I don’t know if it was (built) from scratch, as much as turn it quickly.”

Dannen said he’ll be joined at the hip with Rhule for a while.  He used the analogy that he and the athletic department will be a snow plow, removing any obstacles that Rhule encounters in turning Nebraska’s football program around.
