Cougars Battle Broncos in C2 Boys State Hoops Semifinals
Cross County’s boys basketball team takes on Amherst in the C2 state tourney semifinals this afternoon.
The No. 5 seed Cougars won their first-ever state tournament game over Summerland 44-30 on Wednesday. They enter today’s game with a 23-5 record.
The top-seeded Broncos are 24-2 after beating Bridgeport in the quarterfinals. Amherst was the C2 state runner-up last season, falling in the championship to Freeman, which did not make it back to Lincoln this year.
Tipoff at the Devaney Sports Center is set for 1:30 p.m. You can hear play-by-play on 93.5 The Hawk. The winner advances to Saturday’s 4:15 p.m. championship game at Pinnacle Bank Arena. If it’s Cross County, the title tilt will also air on The Hawk.
