Columbus Teen Dies In Sunday Morning Accident
COLUMBUS- On Sunday at 9:51 AM, the Platte County Sheriff’s Office, responded to the area south of 355th St. on 205th Ave. for a report of a car crash with injuries.
The initial investigation revealed that a pickup, driven by 18-year-old Blake Anderson of Columbus, had been traveling northbound on 205th Ave. prior to the crash. ½ mile south of 355th St., Anderson lost control of the vehicle resulting in the vehicle leaving the roadway and entering the east ditch. As the vehicle entered the ditch the vehicle rolled up on its side and struck a power pole. Anderson was extracted and transported to the Columbus Community Hospital where he died. Seatbelts were not in use at the time of the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
