Columbus’ Senior Legion team lost in extra innings, while the Juniors posted a walk-off win over Norfolk last night.
The Cornerstone Insurance Group Columbus Seniors scored a run in the sixth inning to tie the game 2-all at Pawnee Park’s Legion Field. But, Norfolk scored a run in the top of the eighth and won 3-2. The second straight loss for Cornerstone dropped its record to 12-9.
Tomorrow at Legion Field, the Columbus Seniors will face Lincoln North Star starting around 3:30 p.m., after North Star meets Norfolk at 1 p.m.
The OneUnited Federal Credit Union Junior Blues edged Norfolk 8-7 last night. After Norfolk scored a run in the top of the seventh to break a 6-all tie, the Junior Blues scored twice in the bottom of the inning. Stewie Kudron had three RBI and Charlie Larson scored three runs in the victory, which improved Columbus to 6-12.
The Junior Blues are off until next Saturday when they’ll host Grand Island in a doubleheader.
