CHS Boys Soccer Shaded by Pius, Girls Play Today

Columbus was edged by Lincoln Pius X 1-0 Wednesday in the Heartland Athletic Conference boys soccer tournament. 

It was the Discoverers second straight loss in the conference tourney at Seacrest Field, following a 2-0 defeat against Lincoln East on Monday.  The Thunderbolts scored the only goal of yesterday’s match in the first half. 

CHS had beaten Pius 1-0 in Columbus on April 4th.  The Discoverers are now 6-7 and are scheduled to have a rematch with Lincoln East next Tuesday at the CHS turf field. 

The Columbus girls soccer team is set to face Lincoln Southwest in the conference tournament today.  The Discoverers, who lost to Lincoln East 1-0 in Tuesday’s opening round, are 8-4. 

The Silver Hawks are 11-1 after suffering their first loss of the season yesterday to Pius 1-0 in overtime.
