Childress, Sirianni Named NU Baseball Assistant Coaches

Nebraska baseball coach Will Bolt has added two assistant coaches to his staff.

Rob Childress will serve as the Huskers’ pitching coach, while Mike Sirianni will work with hitters and infielders.

Sirianni joins NU immediately.  Childress, who has served as Nebraska’s director of player development since 2021, will remain in that role until July 1st.  That’s when the NCAA permits schools to add a third full-time assistant coach.

Childress was on the Huskers’ staff from 1998 through 2005.  He spent 16 seasons as the head coach at Texas A&M leading the Aggies to the NCAA Tournament 13 straight years from 2007 to 2019, and two trips to the College World Series in 2011 and 2017.

Sirianni has 13 years of college coaching experience and spent the last four seasons as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Wichita State.
