33 Pounds of Methamphetamine Found During I-80 Traffic Stop

YORK- The Nebraska State Patrol have arrested two people after locating 33 pounds of methamphetamine during a traffic stop on Interstate 80 near York.

At 1:30 p.m. Thursday, a trooper observed an eastbound SUV following another vehicle too closely on Interstate 80 near York. During the traffic stop, the trooper became suspicious of criminal activity. A search of the vehicle revealed 33 pounds of methamphetamine contained in a duffle bag in the rear of the vehicle. Troopers also found a small amount of cocaine and marijuana.

The driver, 29-year-old Uriel Alcala, of Perris, California, and 30-year-old Christofer Cruz, of Lancaster, California, were arrested for possession of methamphetamine and possession with intent to deliver.
