Zegarowski Recognized, Bluejays Jump in Rankings

Creighton guard Marcus Zegarowski was named yesterday by NCAA.com correspondent Andy Katz as his National Player of the Week.

The junior averaged 17.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists last week as the Bluejays posted double-digit wins over Georgetown and then-number 5 Villanova.  He had 25 points in Saturday’s 86-70 victory over Nova. 

Following that win, Creighton jumped five spots to number 14 in yesterday’s AP Top 25, while Villanova tumbled five spots to number 10. 

CU climbed six spots to number 12 in the Ferris Mower’s Coaches Poll.
