Wynne Drafted, Christo and Hood Will Attend NU

Nebraska junior Cam Wynne was the third Husker picked in the MLB Draft.  He was selected yesterday in the 20th and final round by the Philadelphia Phillies.

Wynne was a key part of Nebraska’s bullpen last season.  The 6-foot-6 right-hander made 17 relief appearances and had a 3.12 ERA.  The Lincoln High grad joined NU teammates Spencer Schwellenbach and Cade Povich in hearing their names called in this year’s draft.

Meantime, Nebraska recruit Drew Christo announced yesterday that after going undrafted in the first two days of the MLB Draft, he’ll be attending NU in the fall.  The pitcher from Elkhorn High was the 2021 Nebraska Gatorade Player of the Year.  Another Husker recruit, Norris graduate CJ Hood, also announced on social media that he’ll be honoring his commitment to Nebraska.
