Wright’s Play Highlights Huskers Loss, Wisconsin Fires OC
It was a fine homecoming for Nebraska cornerback Ceyair Wright, which perhaps is the best thing you could say about the Huskers’ 28-20 loss at USC on Saturday.
Wright, who played for the Trojans the past two seasons, had a 45-yard pick-six and a blocked field goal for NU. Emmett Johnson led Nebraska’s rushing attack with 55 yards on 10 carries, adding seven catches for 36 yards and a touchdown. Dylan Raiola completed 27-of-38 passes for 191 yards, a TD and two interceptions. His final interception came on the game’s final play, when a USC defender was not flagged for an obvious holding penalty.
Nebraska will host Wisconsin this Saturday. The Badgers made news on Sunday, firing second-year offensive coordinator Phil Longo one day after Wisconsin’s 16-13 home loss to No. 1 Oregon. The Badgers, like the Huskers, are 5-5 and one win away from gaining bowl eligibility.
Saturday’s kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. The pregame starts at 10:30 a.m. on News Talk 900 KJSK. It will be joined at 2 p.m. on 93.5 The Hawk.
